Vivel Nouel

Vivel Nouel is a Venezuela-born writer who has lived in Miami since 2005. She wrote the telenovela Corazón Esmeralda, which was adapted by Zaret Romero for Venevisión. That show was perhaps best known for starring Irene Esser, Miss Venezuela 2011, and featuring ecology as a major plot point. As with all telenovelas, there is a love story and something that keeps the lovers apart. In the case of Corazón Esmeralda, that dividing factor is the ecology. One protagonist is someone whose work hurts the ecosystem. The other protagonist seeks to promote the preservation of the environment.

It took Vivel two years to write that show, which she considered her best work. She said that it was her first piece of writing where she didn’t consider how it would be received, or what ratings it would get. And, she took the time to review and refine the work.

Vivel has written other telenovelas including Peligrosa, which lasted 164 episodes and was distributed internationally by Venevisión International; Engañada, which she created; as well as more than a dozen other TV shows including Por Todo Lo Alto, Lágrimas de Amor, Calypso, Pobre Millonaria, Samantha, and Felina. She continues to create original telenovelas in Spanish for the Mexican and Latin American markets.

Since 2011, Vivel has been writing under the auspices of Arcadia International, a major distributor of telenovelas throughout Latin America. The company, which was founded by Miguel Rosenfeld in 1986, is well-known for representing some of the most prolific writers in the telenovela industry. It also acquires telenovelas from around the world for distribution in Latin America.

Miguel Rosenfeld, Chairman and CEO of Arcadia, has been called a visionary for realizing the appeal and potential of telenovelas. Over his 28-year career as a senior-level executive, he has proven himself to be a leader in the television, cable, and communications industries throughout North America, Latin America, and Europe.
